What is good about having a pet?

Looking deeply into my dog’s eyes I see a kind of love not of this world. I wonder at intelligence and innocence combined and how I actually deserve this gaze. I have heard the wag of a dog’s tail is a direct line to the Universe and a message of approval from Creator. His tail is waving slowly along with his steady, unblinking look of love. His name is Gabriel Dark Angel of the Lake but is Gabe to me. He is truly an angel in the form of a Goenendale Belgian Sheepdog. That’s the thing about having a pet for me.
